Starting a new job during lockdown
Read all about how our new Digital Associate, Jack Michael, has got on during his first month at SPEY
My name is Jack Michael and I am SPEY’s new Digital Associate. I started with SPEY just over a month ago and whilst I must say it has been bizarre starting a new role from home, everyone has been extremely welcoming and always willing to help.
It’s certainly been a change moving from client side marketing to working in an agency for the first time. The high-paced nature of working with a range of clients and tone of voices is something that I feel I thrive on and certainly enjoy. From COVID cocktail hours with the team on a Friday afternoon to working with some of the world’s best loved luxury drinks brands, it’s certainly been a varied first month.
One of the things that attracted me to SPEY as a company was the fact it’s a relatively small team working with global brands. We are working with some really prestigious clients on some really cool projects, with everyone pitching in with great ideas to enhance any project we work on. Immersive workshops allowing us to further explore and develop clients’ brand personalities have also been particularly interesting, and I’ve gained a new insight into what goes on when bringing a new project to life. Working with others in the team to develop content calendars to coincide with media releases has also been a key part of my first month and will continue to be going forward. It’s really interesting to see how all our roles fit together to deliver results for our clients.
I met some of the team for the first time this week, it was great to meet them in person and I look forward to meeting the rest of the team soon. Although through the various calls and quizzes, it is incredible how well you can get to know someone you’ve never met in person.
Seeing the amount of success and awards the team has received, even in the month since I’ve started, has shown that I’ve made the right decision and joined a great agency.
